This meat sauce is the divine. It's full of flavor and sure to satisfy.
In a stockpot, heat the olive oil.
Add in the beef and pork and brown.
Once cooked through, add in the dried basil, red pepper flakes, minced garlic, salt & pepper. Stir to combine and become fragrant.
Add in the red wine and cook down just a bit.
Add in the crushed tomatoes and the tomato puree and bring to a slow simmer. **throughout the cooking, you can check for consistency and add a little water at a time if needed.
Lastly, I like to add a Parmesan rind or two to the simmering sauce. It gives the sauce just an extra something and I love it. (totally optional)
