Heaven…creamy heaven is what this breakfast tasted like. I’m not a huge fan of smothered biscuits…I tend to plate mine with the gravy on the side because I don’t enjoy soggy biscuits….but this sausage gravy, I could drown my biscuits in it! So good!
My 96 year old mother-in-law lives with us and so I make breakfast for her most mornings unless my husband beats me to it. She is easy to please thankfully, but I like to keep it exciting so I’m always trying different things. This particular morning, I was limited to breakfast sausage and the ingredients to make biscuits…so I went with it!
I used my favorite biscuit recipe and breakfast was made! She loved it!
Breakfast Biscuits & Sausage Gravy
A creamy and delicious sausage gravy to pair with fluffy cheddar and green onion biscuits.
- 1 pkg breakfast sausage
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 to 1 1/2 cup milk
- salt & pepper to taste
In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage until just browned.
Add the onion to the sausage mixture and cook for about 5 minutes on medium heat.
Sprinkle the flour into the sausage and onion mixture and stir until combined.
Season to taste.
Slowly pour in the milk and stir thoroughly to remain creamy and free of clumps. Let cook for 10 to 15 minutes on low heat and cover.
This is such an easy and fast breakfast to put together. Enjoy!
