Okay….if you follow this blog in anyway, y’all know by now that I love to try out new places to eat.
…and that I love to travel and try new places to eat.
..and that I love to eat.
So….this past weekend, my youngest daughter and I met my sister in Waco because my niece was going through sorority recruitment and we stumbled upon this gem….Hecho En Waco. Oddly enough, we were not there for lunch or dinner….but breakfast!!! Although I was a little skeptical to try it out for breakfast, I decided that maybe it was not such a bad idea after all because I remembered that one of my all time favorite breakfasts also happened to be Mexican. Boy, was I glad that we gave it a try!!! LOVED it!
I ordered the Huevos Divorciados, which is eggs the way you like them served over a corn tortilla and drenched with red and green sauce. It is served with refried beans and homemade tortillas that were divine. BUT….the best part…..was this unique creamy bean and corn dip that came with my order of chips & queso. OMG….it doesn’t look like much, but it was SOOO good! I could have just ordered the chips and queso and been just as happy and totally content. The chips were perfect with not only the queso and bean/corn dip, but also their yummy salsa. The order came with all three.
I have to admit that the picture below came from their website because I was tooooo busy eating it up to capture a pic of it! It’s not that pretty to look at, but don’t let that stop you. It was amazing.
I’ve attempted to try to remake it….and although my attempt turned out to be more of a thicker version…it just wasn’t the same. I’ve decided that I might need a few more visits to Hecho En Waco for research purposes….lol….to get it just right! Stay posted.
Until next time Waco!
Other great places to shop and eat if you visit Waco:
Chip & Joanna’s Magnolia Market
Alpha & Omega Greek Restaurant
and of course, Baylor University
Full Disclosure….both photos above are from Hecho En Waco’s website. I was too infatuated with my breakfast to snap photos of my own. Sorry:)
