Okay….so this restaurant in Houston is one of my faves!!! Each time I go, it is such a treat because the menu seems to change depending on what time of year it is and what’s fresh and in season at the time. I.LOVE.THIS.PLACE.
Disclaimer: Forgive the quality of the pictures in this post. Using my IPhone in low lighting….still looks good to me though.
The above was my yummy meal…..so good. Partly I ordered it because I love smashed potatoes and any kind of chicken, but if I’m honest….which I always try to be, I ordered it because of it’s title. I’m a foodie and a fan of course. Julia Child’s Poulet au four rôti. (Oven roasted half chicken with Ouisie’s fork mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach) It was DIVINE!!!

“When I was 8 years old, I began watching Julia Child on PBS’ ‘The French Chef.’ I would sit for hours watching these cooking shows on TV, long before the Food Network existed. Because of Julia, I enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu in France in 1997. It was the same school she attended in 1948 and was synonymous with culinary excellence. Julia was my biggest childhood and culinary influence, of course along with my family – my grandmother, who I loved to cook with, my uncle who had a beautiful vegetable garden, and my aunt who would cook those vegetables. Back then, people took time to prepare family meals at home and everything was so flavorful. “
The above photo is of my sister’s meal. It was equally as good and so perfectly cooked. Pan Roasted Chicken with Running Gear. This dish had artichoke hearts, English peas & mushrooms that are smothered in a lemon butter emulsion sauce and served with the creamiest mashed potatoes. So good.
Okay, let’s just talk about their Tres Leches Cake……my sister ordered it for her dessert and she let me have a bite or two. It truly is the best one that I have ever had…anywhere….really! So creamy and delicious.
But….MY DESSERT…was the bomb! Chocolate Pot De Crème. RIGHTEOUS!
Oh, this place is one of my favorites when I’m in Houston. It goes well with a girls all day shopping trip to the Galleria and an overnight stay to re-cooperate. Looking forward to the next time.
