Hello Disney World…..it’s us again!
For those of you that follow my blog, you probably know my Amanda’s story! She is so cherished in our family for her never ending innocence and all things Disney and love! Amanda is very special to us for many reasons….but mostly because she keeps the kid in ALL of us! There is no place she would rather celebrate her birthday than at Disney World or Disney Land….I mean she wouldn’t be opposed to celebrating it at our family’s favorite vacation spot….but Disney most definitely would be her ultimate choice!! Even if we do it every year….it just never gets old for her. For us either, if I’m being honest!
Each year, I try to recruit a new traveler to go with us because I just think it’s so fun for her to experience her favorite place with others. Last year, we brought one of my sister’s with us and I’ll never forget the tears of joy that I saw in my sister’s eyes when she witnessed Amanda’s reaction to the character parade that we attended. Amanda was ELATED!!!!!! She treats those characters as if they were family, her best friends! I love that about her!
This year….it’s my mom’s turn! Boy is she going to have fun! Not to mention, it will be her 1st time ever to Disney World!!! I can’t wait to see it through her eyes!
It’s safe to say that she LOVED it!
Anyhow….I’ve been prepping for this trip for a couple of months now. Lots to do to plan the perfect time. This year, we are staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort which is so convenient!!! Amanda and I stayed there a couple of years ago and LOVED it because the monorail is literally IN the hotel. Once we arrived at the Contemporary Resort, we never left until it was time to head to the airport. DISCLAIMER: Amanda only wishes to go to Magic Kingdom…she likes the other parks and has been several times, but for her birthday, she chooses Magic Kingdom only! So again….the Contemporary Resort makes it so easy for us!
She shares a birthday with Mickey & Minnie Mouse…so there’s that! Seriously. They are exactly 63 years older than her. Insert a Minnie giggle here….

I love this picture! It’s so Disney….and then there’s….

this one….AH…LOVE it! I think it’s my favorite pic from the trip!

A view of the Grand Floridian Resort from the monorail.
I just loved the decorations and the charm of this hotel. So pretty!
Beautiful flowers in the lobby! It truly is a gorgeous hotel.
Tony’s Town Plaza. The Caprese appetizer was a yummy treat before our pizza.
Cinderella’s Castle…a lit up!
Amanda and Pluto at Chef Mickey’s.
Dinner at Chef Mickey’s is always on the agenda. Amanda loves it!
Pretty pic of the back of Cinderella’s Castle.
The Grand Floridian Cafe. We enjoyed a yummy breakfast at the cafe. I had lobster eggs Benedict as you can see. It was divine!!! The fresh tomatoes cut through the richness of the lobster and sauce and made the whole meal!!!
Amanda had the Mickey waffle and loved it!!! She said that it melted in her mouth!
A great pic of my mom and daughter in front of Cinderella’s Castle!
The Crystal Palace. This is another “MUST” stop when we go to Magic Kingdom. Amanda loves their breakfast buffet and seeing Pooh and his friends.
Mom and Eeyore.
Amanda & Piglet…so cute!
What another great Disney Birthday Trip we had!!! We tried lots of new things this trip and I was inspired by many of the foods that we had and will be recreating them soon! Stay tuned…..Gasparilla Island Grill’s Sausage and Peppers Pizza is on the top of my list! SO GOOD.
See ya next year Mickey!
